How counting works
Calendar dates use their written year, month and day, so daylight saving and time zones cannot change the answer. End date is excluded unless you select Include end date. If End is before Start, the range is counted from the earlier date and the result stays positive.
Workdays follow your weekend pattern and exclude only the holidays you enter. Adding workdays starts after the Start date; subtracting moves backwards. A zero adjustment returns the Start date.
When times are enabled, the answer is the exact elapsed duration between the chosen local times and zones. Calendar inclusion does not apply. A clock-forward time that does not exist is rejected. A clock-back time that occurs twice requires you to choose its first or second occurrence.
Dates, holidays and results are processed locally. Sharing deliberately includes the displayed settings in the link. Keyboard editing works normally; Alt + Down opens the calendar. Complete pasted dates use YYYY-MM-DD (or YYYY/MM/DD). Day-first dates are accepted only when the day is greater than 12, so their order is unambiguous.

- Can I exclude weekends or holidays?
- Yes—choose Workdays, then select excluded weekend days and optional holidays. The earlier boundary is counted and the later boundary is excluded unless you include it; reversed ranges explain that order.
- Does it handle leap years?
- Absolutely—the calculator accounts for leap years and varying month lengths automatically.
